MEJORES DISCOS 2016

Creo que nunca antes había publicado mi lista de lo mejor del año tan pronto. El primer año de blog ya reivindiqué que en mi opinión no deberían publicarse hasta que hubiera finalizado el año, y en realidad sigo pensándolo, pero también es cierto que puestos a hacer como el resto de publicaciones y publicarla antes, tampoco va a cambiar mucho (probablemente nada) que la publique hoy o dentro de una semana, y debido a esta misma inercia en que todos los medios la publican entre Noviembre y principios de Diciembre, contra más tarde se publique menos interés tendrá, porque la gente llega un momento que acaba saturada de listas.

Echando la vista atrás, no cabe duda de que 2016 ha sido un año marcado por la perdida de artistas clave de la historia de la música como no recuerdo otro (igual también es la edad). Entre ellos se encuentran David Bowie, que en Enero publicaba su fabuloso último disco "Blackstar", tan sólo dos días antes de su muerte, así como Leonard Cohen, que también publicaba pocas semanas antes de su pérdida su gran "You Want It Darker". Curiosamente, la creación de otro de los mejores discos de éste 2016 ha sido el nuevo trabajo de Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, "Skeleton Tree", que también está marcado por una pérdida, en éste caso la del hijo de Nick Cave, que tuvo un accidente mortal el pasado 2015.

Aun así, para mí de nuevo ha sido un gran año en el aspecto de creación musical, quizás no tanto en lo que a discos redondos se refiere, pero sí en cuanto a la cantidad de bandas con propuestas interesantes. 2016 nos ha dejado grandísimas canciones como "Daydreaming" de Radiohead, la bellísima "Paul" de Big Thief, la impresionante cover "Half the World Away" original de Oasis versionada por Aurora, "Cupid" de The Big Moon, "Ruby" de Charly Bliss, la genial auto-versión de "Cenas y Cines" de Chico y Chica, "Rings of Saturn" de Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds, "Fever Boy" de Femme,  "Fall on Me" de Kitten (a pesar de ser casi un plagio de "Trash" de Suede),  "Bel Esprit" y "All I Think About Now" de Pixies (a pesar de auto-plagiarse a ellos mísmos, como también han hecho éste año con notables resultados Metallica en su último trabajo. Las bandas están en su derecho de auto-plagiarse, la diferencia está en hacerlo bien o mal), y un larguísimo etc. que como siempre repaso en los vídeos más abajo.

En el apartado de discos consistentes en su totalidad, aparte de los tres discos comentados en el segundo párrafo, destacaría el debut de Hinds, que es quizás el único trabajo del año del cual me encantan todas sus pistas. También el debut de Whitney, formado entre otros por el guitarrista Max Kakacek, de los desaparecidos Smith Westerns, una de mis bandas preferidas de los últimos años (sus dos últimos trabajos ya aparecieron sus respectivos años en esta lista), en parte por sus fabulosos aportes a las guitarras. "A Moon Shaped Pool" de Radiohead sería otro de los discos consistentes del año, aunque no todas las canciones estén al mismo nivel, ni sea un disco comparable a "In Rainbows" o a sus cuatro primeros discos.

Este año quizás los que más han arrasado en todas las listas de los medios musicales especializados han sido las bandas de Hip Hop, Neo-Soul y Rhythm and Blues, y el Reaggaeton y el mainstream de consumo rápido han hecho lo propio en las listas Big Data del tipo "lo más escuchado del año en Spotify" o visto en Youtube, que en definitiva muestran lo que realmente escuchan la mayoría de la población. Salvo excepciones como el interesante "Atrocity Exhitibion" de Danny Brown, no comparto ese entusiasmo por las bandas actuales de Hip Hop, etc., ni mucho menos por el Reaggaeton que según el Big Data escuchamos. De modo que aunque supongo que son respresentativos de 2016, en la siguiente lista no tienen un peso especial.

A continuación, sin más rodeos, la lista de los que para mí han sido los mejores discos del año, así como el habitual repaso de los que en mi opinión han sido las bandas más interesantes del año, las mejores canciones y los mejores vídeos.

MEJORES DISCOS 2015 - 1_THE CRAYON FIELDS - No One Deserves You

"No One Deserves You" de The Crayon Fields es sin duda uno de los discos a los que más cariño tengo de los escuchados el pasado 2015. Las especiales atmósferas y melodías de las canciones incluidas en éste trabajo me cautivaron por completo, y con el paso del tiempo además hoy me recuerdan a los viajes a Londres que tuve que hacer a finales del año pasado, que coincidieron con la época en que escuchaba éste disco. Recomiendo a los que no lo conozcan que le den una oportunidad, ya que lamentablemente a fecha de hoy apenas ha tenido repercusión. El álbum apareció en la Playlist de Octubre de 2016.

Un  gran año, como todos, en el cual como siempre, en las listas de mejores del año de los medios importantes hay discos que copan todas ellas, y que también yo coincido en situarlos entre los destacados de 2015, como los de Björk o Grimes, y otros discos (la verdad es que muchos más) que personalmente no los incluiría ni en una lista de los mejor de la semana. Pero bueno, es la grandeza y el misterio de los gustos personales, modas y promociones masivas de discos y artistas de los que, en cualquier caso, muchas veces (casi se puede hablar de la mayoría de ellas) público y medios olvidan en pocos años.

En la lista dejo los que para mí merecen la pena, algunos mucho, como los de The Crayon Fields, Dilly Dally, Alex G (de estos he tenido grandes dudas acerca de cual debía ocupar el primer puesto, y finalmente he puesto este orden de primero, segundo y tercero como podía haber puesto cualquier otro, los tres son excelentes por igual) y el de Christina Rosenvinge. A partir del puesto 11 no son discos tan redondos, pero sigo pensando que un top 20 es más interesante que poner sólo 10.

También como siempre, hago un repaso más extenso con otros de los grupos, canciones, vídeos y actuaciones que más me han gustado del año, que recoge las excelentes canciones "Pretty Pimpin" de Kurt Vile, "Go" de The Chemical Brothers, "Pages of Gold" de Flo Morrisey, "What Kind of Men" de Florence & the Machine o "Sapokanikan" de Joanna Newsom entre muchas otras, o también los increibles vídeos de las canciones "The Less I Know the Better" de Tame Impala , "Blackstar" de David Bowie o "Flesh Without Blood" de Grimes. 

Por último la lista de Spotify que recoje, una vez más, un gran año de música como el que ha sido 2015.

Último repaso a 2014, un año que nos ha vuelto a dejar una colección de canciones inolvidables que recojo en la lista anual de Spotify, y por supuesto también más abajo en esta entrada en forma de videoclips y clips de audio. También ha sido una cosecha excelente en cuanto a buenos discos, esta vez el top 10 se compone de diez álbumes (en realidad nueve discos y un ep) que son clásicos inmediatos y casi en su totalidad redondos, y un top 20 de unos trabajos de lo más interesante.
